This book tells of how a descendant of Fenn donated the stencils to the AW&CM how this book was published, includes a biography of W B Fenn. Mr.Fenn had a sizeable business producing stenciled clock case parts and reverse decorated glass tablets for clocks between 1840-1863.Among his customers were the firms of Seth Thomas, Silas Hoadley, H.Welton & Co, Terry & Andrews, J.C.Brown, Smith & Goodrich, Chauncey Boardman, Atkins & Porter, Elisha Manross and others. Includes positive and negative stencils, photos of different clocks with Fenn glasses, several sketches of Fenn that were to become stencils, the litho paper process, acid etched glasses, and copies of Fenn glasses. Published 1994, 64 pages, 8 x 11 inches, soft cover. If you want to make your own stencils for glass tablets, or are interested in the history of Fenn and his work this is an excellent book. I use varnish, bronze powder, satin to apply the powder, and make stencils from old drafting paper. I copy a page, then put it under the drafting paper and use a razor knife to cut out the stencil. Paint the varnish on the glass, let it nearly dry, apply the stencil, use the satin to apply the powder, remove the stencil and thats it.
